What is your name?
What is your genre of music?
Give us a little bio about you –
I am a recording artist and songwriter from Dublin. I grew up listening to the pop sounds of the late 90’s and early 00’s – and give that throwback sound a modern day stamp with my songs.
What made you go into music?
I’ve never felt like I’ve had a choice, it’s always been something I’ve felt compelled to do. It is my true passion.
Who are your influences?
Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Britney, Backstreet Boys, Max Martin, Ariana – so many!
Are you a signed?
Yes, I have been signed to Universal Music for 5 years.
You released your new single ‘Hurt Like Hell’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the song.
In short – it’s a break up song. But what I love about this song is that it’s not all anger and vengeance. That’s in there and that’s the hook, but it’s balanced with the story of the person in question genuinely reflecting back on the relationship. The line’you call me late at night to say you see the light, but i just see the cracks‘ kills me: it encapsulates so much. And the song also examines how the narrative of their break up will play out. I think all of that makes it a much richer song than if we’d simply stuck to the ‘woman scorned’ vibe!
Describe the track in two words.
What was the writing and recording process like?
One of the best experiences I’ve had so far. We wrote this in Sweden and had this great balance of two Irish writers including myself, and two Swedish writers. We knew we wanted to write a break up song, but one that wasn’t too melancholic. There is something about writing and recording in Stockholm that brings magic when you’re a pop artist. We wrote this the day after I had spent some time with Max Martin, having him listen to my demo’s and offer me some tips and advice at his home studio in Stockholm. I think you can feel his influence across this song.
Who did you work with on the single?
Writers Joakim Berg, Nick Jarl and Richey McCourt. Richey produced it also.
Will we see a music video for ‘Hurt Like Hell’ and if so, what can we expect from the creative process?
The video is out now, and is just a total expression of all of the emotions in the song. I literally have costume changes to reflect the range of emotions that the person singing the song is feeling. I got to be really creative with this one, and I adore the final product. watch it here
Will we see an EP or Album and if so, what tell us more about it.
For now, I’m still focusing on building my fan base single – by – single. I think my EP ‘Confession’ really helped position me not just as a singer, but as an artist. And off the back of that it’s been amazing to see more and more new fans come on board.
Do you have any live shows coming up?
Yes! We have some amazing festivals already announced and more to come, and I’m playing the beautiful Olympia in Dublin in May with an amazing line up, to raise funds for Focus Ireland. I’m also showcasing in Brighton at the Great Escape!
Let us know where we can get tickets if so.
Tickets for the Olympia show are available here,
What else can we expect in early 2023?
We are just about to release the Swedish version of Hurt Like Hell so look out for that and lots of Swedish promo and content!
Where do you see yourself now in 5 years?
Making music! Playing to bigger audiences, continuing to write music for myself and others. Music, music, music. 5 years, 10 years, 50 years – it doesn’t matter. I will always be creating music.
What quote or saying do you always stick by?
Where words fail, music speaks.
When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
For my own shows – My in ears, Toothbrush, Lipgloss, Lemons (for hot tea), My phone
Do you have social media accounts so your fans can follow you?
