An aged lady who used to be struck two weeks in the past by means of a police motorbike escorting Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, has died of serious inner accidents, and the British royal expressed her deep unhappiness over the incident.
Helen Holland, 81, died after “suffering multiple broken bones and massive internal injuries”, her son Martin Holland advised the BBC on Wednesday. She have been in a coma after the crash, in step with her circle of relatives.
The Metropolitan Police showed Holland’s demise in an emailed commentary.
“The Duchess of Edinburgh is deeply saddened to hear that Helen Holland has passed away. Her Royal Highness’s deepest condolences and sympathies go to all of Ms Holland’s family,” Buckingham Palace stated in a commentary.
Sophie, the spouse of King Charles’ youngest brother Prince Edward, would privately get in contact with Holland’s circle of relatives, the commentary stated.
The police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), is investigating the incident, which came about within the Earl’s Court district of West London.
The IOPC stated in a commentary remaining week it used to be reviewing photos from police frame cameras and had taken preliminary accounts from officials concerned.
The IOPC had no additional knowledge on Wednesday, whilst London’s Metropolitan Police stated it used to be cooperating with the IOPC probe.
“This tragic outcome is being felt by colleagues across the Met,” Chief Superintendent Richard Smith, head of the Met’s Royalty and Specialist Protection, stated in a commentary. “Our thoughts are very much with the woman’s family and loved ones at this sad time.”
