“This military assistance package includes more ammunition for US-provided HIMARS and howitzers that Ukraine is using to defend itself, as well as ammunition for Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, HARM missiles, anti-tank weapons, riverine boats, and other equipment,” he said in a statement.
Putin told Jinping that he had gone over Chinese peace proposals and viewed them with respect. He also said that Russia was “slightly envious” of China’s rapid development in recent decades.
When he arrived at Moscow’s airport, Xi praised Russia-China relations which he said would gain a “new momentum”.
“I am confident the visit will be fruitful and give new momentum to the healthy and stable development of Chinese-Russian relations,” he said on the tarmac, according to Russian news outlets.
In recent months, the US has been wary of Beijing sending lethal aid to Russiaincluding weapons of war. Top US officials including Vice President Kamala Harris as well as Secretary of State Antony Blinken have warned of the prospect.
