India’s grandmother-granddaughter karate champs

An atypical duo is successful laurels for India in karate.

Geeta Godara, 60, and her 13-year-old granddaughter Aashka just lately received medals in several classes at a global karate festival in Dubai.

Ms Godara, who lives in Gurugram in Haryana state, started finding out the martial artwork simply two years in the past – she was once impressed through observing her granddaughter, whom she used to accompany to a karate faculty.

With encouragement from her trainer Sunil Saini, Ms Godara started her atypical new innings.

Aashka says she felt embarrassed when her grandmother first began finding out karate. Now, she simply feels proud.
