The much-loved Newtown bar is set to pour the wines of Swiss winery Domaine De Beudon for one night only on Tuesday 23 March.
Paul Hervy of Brix Fine Wines will be hosting the event, taking guests through the wine pairings that include rare cuveés and sought-after vintages.
Hervy will recall his trip to the famed Swiss vineyard, and will also be sharing exclusive wines that have not been released to the public.
Odd Culture Group’s Executive Head Chef James MacDonald will be serving up a Swiss-inspired, four-course menu to pair with the wines.
Some of the courses include choucroute garnie with roast kurobuta pork paired with 2014 Domaine de Beudon Gamaret and 2018 Domaine de Beudon Diolinoir and pizzoccheri au foie gras with buckwheat noodles paired with 2020 Domaine de Beudon Cuvée Antique Chasselas Vieilles Vignes and 2020 Domaine de Beudon Petite Arvine .
Crafted by the Granges Family, the biodynamic vineyards of Domaine De Beudon sit 900m above sea level on the Swiss Alps – resulting in its name “vineyard in the sky”.
The wineries are known for their radical and non-interventional approach across their wines and vineyards which are only accessible via cable car or foot.
The event is the second in Odd Culture’s Oddity series, which focuses on the beauty of making things by shining the light on the unique producers across the industry.
Oddity #2 Domaine De Beudon will be held on Thursday 23 March, with tickets $240 per person and available via oddculture.group/whats-on/oddity-2-domaine-de-beudon
