The big news was revealed during the Meyer Jabara Hotels Leadership Conference last month. President Justin Jabara reported to Representatives of the company’s 31 owned and managed hotels that the company is coming off a record-setting year.
“Things feel different this year,” Jabara told associates. “In the office, things feel different. When I visit our hotels, things feel different. At the airport, things feel different. Travel is back. Demand is back. Traffic is back. People with suits are back. But most importantly, Meyer Jabara Hotels is in the best place it has ever been.”
Two to three years ago, Meyer Jabara Hotels’ properties (like most hotels across the globe) were empty. The operational restructuring took place systemwide. General managers and executive teams did whatever was needed and that sometimes included laundry, folding towels, and cleaning rooms. Those were dark days, but the future of Meyer Jabara Hotels is brighter today than ever before.
“Recently we contracted with Zenger Folkman to gauge the corporate health of our company,” Jabara said. “It should be no surprise that Meyer Jabara Hotels placed in the top percentile of hotel companies and other industry businesses benchmarked. Areas analyzed included ethics and integrity, trust and respect, innovation, and direction and change.
“The financial health of Meyer Jabara Hotels is equally as strong,” he said. “We beat budgeted portfolio revenue and house profit in 2022. RevPAR also grew across our portfolio with significant gains in ADR. I am very proud of the Meyer Jabara family for achieving these results.”
Unifocus reports that Meyer Jabara Hotels’ employees are the happiest they’ve ever been, with scores from its recently Associate Opinion Survey the highest on record. Likewise, the Meyer Jabara Hotels corporate culture is shining bright, with more than 90% of MJ associates certified in ‘Living the Journey’ — the foundation of Meyer Jabara’s corporate Journey Culture.
“Our employees are happy and fulfilled in their jobs, therefore they delight in delivering memorable experiences for guests through personal touches, stellar service, and ensuring that our amenities are top-notch,” Jabara said. “Because of their efforts, MJ’s guest satisfaction scores soared across our portfolio last year.”
